FAQ

Need clarification?

Where do I submit my health screening documents?

You have a few options for submitting your health screening results:

I am out of town, where can I take my drug test?

Our system allows you to search any zip code for available clinics.  If for any reason there is no clinic near you, you will be given the option "Alternate Facility Needed" and BIB will select one for you.  Please allow 2 hours for BIB to find a clinic and send you the needed documents.  For an update you can contact us at applicantinquiry@bib.com.

CMS Payment and Registration Options for Health Screening Services

For Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools applicants, when you register for health screening you will have 3 options.

1 - You can register to have these services done at one of our network facilities.  You would be paying for the cost of the service and paperwork processing in this instance.

2 - You can register to use your own physician.  You would only be paying for the processing of the paperwork only and would be responsible for the cost of your doctor visit.  We don't control how the doctor's office operates so you would need to confirm if you can just forward them the paperwork to complete or if they will require another visit.  You do not receive the paperwork until you have completed registering and paying.

3 - You can transfer your paperwork from another NC School or staffing agency.  In this instance, you would have previous employment at and NC School or staffing agency with no gaps of employment.  You would have to obtain that paperwork and forward it to us.  You would only be paying for the processing of the paperwork only.

For all 3 options you still have to register and pay for registering/processing.

How long does the CMS hiring process take?

There are four main steps to the hiring process for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools that are handled by BIB:

  1. Background Check - The background check typically takes around 2-3 days to complete.  You can check the status of the background check at the Applicant Portal.  You will be notified when this is complete via email.
  2. Drug Test - Processing at the lab takes around 2-3 days.  Processing does not start until after the lab receives the sample, which may take a day or two to arrive.  The final result of your drug screen will be available to you in the Applicant Portal.
  3. Health Screening Services - This is totally up to you!  You can choose an appointment date that works for you.  The health exam is completed in the same visit, but the TB skin test requires that you come back after 2 days to have the results read.  They will be available immediately after the result is read.
  4. Fingerprinting and I-9 Services - These services are completed during your scheduled visit to the CMS office.  Each service takes approximately 15 minutes to complete.
