NOTICE TO REQUEST PROCEDURES & SOURCES:  

 

Under Section 611 of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), you have the right to request a description of the procedures used by the Consumer Reporting Agency (CRA), BChex, to reinvestigate any disputed information on your credit report. If you wish to obtain this information, please contact us directly at dispute@bib.com. Additionally, please note that the contact information for all furnishers of information related to your dispute is included in your FCRA letters. This ensures you have access to the necessary details to address any concerns directly with the furnishers. 

 

NOTICE TO ADD A STATEMENT:

 

Under Section 611 of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), you have the right to add a statement to your file if, after the completion of a reinvestigation, you continue to dispute the completeness or accuracy of any information. This statement will become part of your consumer report. If you wish to make such a statement, please contact us with the details you would like to include at dispute@bib.com.

CRA REINVESTIGATION PROCEDURES:

What is the process?
  1. Acknowledgment of Dispute
  • We have received your dispute regarding the accuracy of the information in your report. You will receive an acknowledgment of your dispute within 5 business days. 
  1. Information Review
  • We will review the disputed information against the original data provided by the source. 
  • We may request additional documentation from you if necessary to support your dispute. 
  1. Contacting the Data Furnisher
  • If the dispute involves information provided by a third party (e.g., employer, creditor), we will contact the data furnisher to verify the accuracy of the information. 
  • The data furnisher has up to 30 days to respond with the verification or correction of the information. 
  1. Reinvestigation Outcome
  • Once the reinvestigation is complete, we will notify you of the results. If the disputed information cannot be verified, it will be corrected or removed from your report. 
  • If the information is verified, we will provide a summary of the findings and explain the next steps. 
  1. Report Updates
  • If corrections or updates are made to your report as a result of the reinvestigation, a new copy of your report will be sent to you free of charge. 
  • If no changes are made, we will notify you of the decision and the reasons for the findings. 
  1. Adding a Statement of Dispute
  • If you disagree with the reinvestigation results, you have the right to add a statement of dispute to your file. This statement will be included in future reports provided to third parties. 
  1. Dispute Timeline
  • The reinvestigation process generally takes 30-45 days.
